Construction of 6-Lane Highway from Kala Shah Kaku to Lahore Ring Road (18.3 km) (Lahore Eastern Bypass)

Brief Scope / Objectives of the Project
The project envisaged construction of 6-lane dual carriageway having 18.30 km length from Kala Shah Kaku to Lahore Ring Road. The scope of work includes construction of bridge over River Ravi spanning 800 m, 2 bridges over railway crossings, 4 bridges on drains/nullahs, 5 underpasses, 4 interchanges, 17 Cattle Creeps, 12 Culverts, drainage , erosion and flood protection works.

Benefits of the Project
Various industries in the area will directly benefit from an improved transportation system and will result in uplift of economic condition of local community. It will also connect Lahore City to the proposed Lahore – Sialkot Motorway.The project will connect G.T Road (N-5) and Lahore – Islamabad Motorway (M-2) on one end and to the Lahore Ring Road on the other. It will reduce the traffic load on existing Ravi Bridge and the section of N-5 between Shahdara and Kala Shah Kaku.
