Cabinet Committee on CPEC decides to commence financing discussion over ML-1 project with China. Draft Act of CPEC Authority to be presented to Federal cabinet for approval:

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar chaired Cabinet Committee on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) here in Islamabad to discuss the agenda and deliberate over the deliverables for upcoming Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting scheduled to be held on November 06.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed, Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi, Minister for Communications Murad Saeed, Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Zaidi, State Minister for Revenue Hammad Azhar, Advisor to PM for Climate Change, DCPC Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan, Secretaries from relevant ministries, members Planning Commission and senior officials from provincial governments also attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed various deliverables and proposals to be taken in the upcoming JCC. Development of Gwadar and projects recommended by provincial governments, proposed projects related to energy, transport infrastructure, water, industrial cooperation and agriculture to be taken up to JCC were discussed in detail.

During the meeting, ML-1 railway project was discussed in detail including formation of a high level financing expert group to deliberate on loan modalities.
