ederal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal Wednesday said that healthy and mentally strong society is vital for a developed and flourishing society.
Addressing a round table conference on mainstreaming of mental health services Ahsan Iqbal said that health sector is government’s top priority. He said mental health sector was ignored previously the purpose of this conference is to pay heed to this sector.
“It is imperative to establish mental health hospitals at district level”, he said.
He said terrorism and extremism have let down self-esteem of our young generation. “A comprehensive study is needed to inquire the effects of such incident on our society”, he added.
It is the need of hour to create awareness about mental illness, young generations should think positive to play their role in a development of the country, Ahsan Iqbal said.
Ahsan Iqbal said terrorism and extremism haves badly affected the mentality of our youth, state level study is required to overcome such deficiencies.
