Dictatorship always destroys country’s image: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Professor Ahsan Iqbal has said dictatorship always destroy the country’s image and after the murder of Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akaber Bugti Balochistan country was literary cut off from rest of Pakistan, but the democratic culture brought it back again into the main stream. Addressing at the closing ceremony of a seminar which was organised by the Punjab University, Lahore here on ThursdayAhsan Iqbal said on Monday that after the incumbent government came to power it promoted the democratic values and made the belligerent people of Balochistan to take part in political activities and Pakistan’s flag was unfurled in the province which was at the verge of separation. He underlined the need of political stability in the country for sustainable development and bringing the country into at par with the developed nations. The minister highlighted the importance of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and termed it a revolution for the development of our economy. He said by executing the CPEC would help country to recover the losses of the sixty years. Referring to the achievements of Pakistan, Ahsan Iqbal said that couple of years back Pakistan was termed as the most dangerous country in the world but the situation has changed considerably due to effective measures of the government.
