Mr. Shahid Naeem

He holds Masters in Economics from Int’l Islamic University and a Post Graduate Diploma in IT. He has served as Chief in Macroeconomics, Public Investment Programing and SDGs Sections. Earlier, he served in the EAD and Ministries of SAFRON and Kashmir Affairs. He has served as Research Associate in the SAARC HRD Center, Islamabad.
Mr. Shahid Naeem has 30 year experience in government sectors, in particular in development planning for less developed areas, human resource development, poverty alleviation. He contributed in a number of studies e.g. SAARC Regional Poverty Profile, labour market issues, decent work, skill mismatch analysis. Have written on various aspects of poverty including unemployment, skill development and livelihood development for poverty alleviation.
Mr. Shahid worked as Project Director for SDGs related National Initiative for SDGs and as Project Manager for World Bank assisted Social Safety Net Project in Ministry of Planning, to provide technical assistance to provinces in developing the provincial social protection policies.
Contributions
Mr. Shahid has contributed chapters on Poverty Alleviation, Macroeconomics and Public Investment Programming for the Ministry of Planning and Development’s annual publications: Annual Plan for several years.
As country team member of Pakistan, contributed the country paper for SAARC Regional Poverty Profile 2005 produced on the theme of Poverty Reduction in South Asia through Productive Employment. RPP is a regular biennial publication of the SAARC Secretariat, Katmandu, Nepal.
Trainings: Apart from completing Senior Management Course from National Management College, Lahore in 2014, he completed training on Project and Programme Management: The Complete Project Cycle from the UK, training on MS Project from PPMI, Islamabad and training in Statistics in Poverty Policies from Sweden.
